Massage Therapy in Ponsonby
Massage for Injuries, Relaxation and Wellness
Remedial massage is a form of massage used to assess and address dysfunctions from injury or long-term imbalances stemming from old injuries. It can also be used for patients who have general muscle soreness from over-exertion.
There is a wide range of techniques used by the massage therapist to get the desired therapeutic result and manipulate your soft tissues. It has the ability to reach both deep and superficial tissues, reducing pain and relaxing the area of focus.
When used in complement to chiropractic, patients may find their adjustments “hold” for longer because the soft tissues and muscles are more pliable following massage. Massage also has a tremendous mental health benefit, as it stimulates the flow of positive responses throughout the nervous system.

Our Massage Techniques
- Deep Tissue: This technique focuses on the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues, helping to relieve chronic aches and long-standing tension.
- Myofascial Release Technique: By gently applying sustained pressure, myofascial release works to ease tightness in the connective tissue, reducing pain and restoring mobility.
- Trigger Point Therapy: This method identifies and releases tight knots, or “trigger points,” in your muscles, helping to ease discomfort and improve overall function.
- Relaxation: Also known as Swedish massage, this approach uses soothing, flowing movements to calm the body, reduce stress, and enhance overall wellness.
- Sports: Tailored to the needs of athletes, this type of massage targets the muscles you use most during physical activity, helping to improve performance, prevent injury, and support recovery.
- Pregnancy: Designed with expectant mothers in mind, this gentle type of bodywork provides relief from the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy.
- Lymphatic Drainage: This gentle technique encourages the natural flow of lymph, helping to reduce swelling, eliminate toxins, and promote a healthy immune system.
- Reflexology: By applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, and ears, reflexology helps stimulate corresponding areas of the body, encouraging relaxation and overall well-being.
